Project Description

Warp Game was a GameFi protocol running on the Polygon network. It featured buildable NFT starships that could travel to multiple staking pools, represented as planets inside of its metaverse. The most lucrative APYs were available only by Captains who sent their NFT starships to these new planets.

The Problem

The Warp Game project was designed to be a play-to-earn game, where players could earn rewards by participating in various activities, such as staking their starships, battling in the arena, and going on expeditions. Despite its short lifespan, the Warp Game project was a significant development in the GameFi space. It was one of the first projects to offer a play-to-earn model that was based on NFTs. The project's failure suggests that there are still challenges to be overcome in order to make GameFi projects successful.

My Duties

As a valued member of the Warp Game team, I had a diverse range of responsibilities that contributed to the success of the project. As a Frontend Developer, I crafted captivating and immersive user interfaces, ensuring a seamless and engaging gaming experience for our players. Leveraging my skills in backend development, I architected and built robust server-side systems that powered the game's functionality, ensuring smooth gameplay and efficient data management. Additionally, I performed statistical analysis to gain valuable insights into player behavior, game performance, and monetization strategies. This analysis allowed us to make data-driven decisions, optimize gameplay mechanics, and deliver personalized experiences that kept players engaged and entertained. As an AWS Cloud Engineer, I was responsible for designing and implementing a scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS. I utilized various AWS services such as EC2, S3, and RDS to ensure high availability, performance, and data storage for the game. My expertise in cloud engineering played a crucial role in optimizing the game's performance and ensuring a seamless gaming experience for our players. Overall, my contributions to the Warp Game project helped create a polished and enjoyable gaming experience, attracting and retaining a loyal player base.
